Though I’m no longer performing with the SFS, I’m still working with a few amazing students and would love to have an opportunity to work with you. Having taught for over a decade, I’m now especially interested in combining music with mindfulness and meditative and self-compassion practices, as well as exploring ways we can use music to feel more joy in life. I love working with students of all levels; I have experience teaching musicians between the ages of 4 and 65 with a wide variety of professional and therapeutic goals. We usually choose the pieces together, and I am equally open to solo, chamber, or orchestral repertoire of different eras and genres. I love sight-reading together or collaborating in some other ways, if you’re not interested in reading music. Here are a few of the topics I address in my lessons:

Creating a sustainable and fun connection with music

Making friends with anxiety or “not being musically inclined”

Body awareness/injury prevention

Deepening your musicianship

The art of practicing

Cultivating a stage presence (if that’s something you’re interested in)

Performance preparation, including meditation and centering techniques

The joy of making music
